Great grippy/sticky yoga mat with textured surface to keep your hands and feet from slipping. Use it alone for Yoga and then roll it over your Pilates mat for Pilates (it keeps the Pilates Mat from stretching out beneath you during certain exercises). I own this brand yoga mat in purple with the dragonfly print which I believe is discontinued, but it’s the exact same product, just different color/design. Avoid the mats that have an excessive amount of print on them – they have a tendency to peel off or stick to the mat when unrolled.

Not only is this mat beautiful, but it has really aided my yoga workout. The design is so symmetrical — it offers you a real sense of being able to place the heels of both palms or feet at exactly the same level, and allows you a spot in which to focus to help find your balance and hold your poses. While it’s really pretty, this design has had many unintended bonuses! I had never considered that mat designs being symmetrical could make such a difference. Love this mat!

I am a yoga instructor and yesterday I purchased this mat while traveling. It has a lot of grip which is very helpful for such common poses as Down Dog, Prasarita Podottanasana, “Vira” I-III, etc… The graphic is at one end of the mat, which is nice. “FYI”.. Anything with prints will tend to wear off over time. You can flip it over if you don’t want any graphics. The mat is a little thicker than I would like (I still use the old Prana mats). I will be recommending this product to new students. There is some “new mat odor”. If you have the option to unroll it and leave it outside overnight, then problem solved. I can’t comment on durability at this time. However at $20, even if it lasts a few months it is a bargain. The great part of Gaiam (in my opinion) is they are a company that create quality products and areaffordable and very accessible (you can find products in bookstores). If you are a Hot, Bikram, Baptiste Power or Cardio, etc… yogi/yogini you may still need a product like “Yogi Toes ” for your practice. The mat can get slick.

This mat is so beautiful in person. I was looking for something serene for my yoga classes and the color and print are perfect. The mat isn’t too thick so it doesn’t cause any stability issues. The non slip surface has wonderful tack to it and works well on my hardwood floors.
Fits perfect in the matching bag also available on Amazon.

Took it to both bikram and my regular hatha class. It’s a little sticky for my taste. Love the coloring though.
